In 2011 the German Information Center USA organized the do Deutsch campaign. This campaign was conducted at 44 universities throughout the United States of America including at American University. At AU the
do Deutsch campaign was organized through the Department of Language of Foreign Studies.

Friends Always: 60 Years After the Berlin Airlift

The Friends Always campaign celebrated the 60th anniversary of the Berlin Airlift. During 1948/49 the Soviet Union blocked all land access to Berlin's West sector. Instead of surrendering Berlin, the United States, with help from the other allies, successfully supplied West Berlin via an air corridor.
